(Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act) is in committee in the House of Representatives.
It applies to a large number of species, including koi. If passed, it would prohibit importation,
carrying across state lines, breeding, sale or barter, or possession (except for those owned lawfully prior
to the planned prohibition).

is stepping down, effective at the AKCA Seminar in February, 2009.

CORRECTION to directions in newsletter for November 12 general meeting: Take I-15 North to the Gopher Canyon Rd exit (this exit is 9 miles north of the 78 in Escondido). Turn right from the exit, then left on Old Highway 395 for 1/4 mile. Turn right on Circle R Dr and go 3.1 miles. Turn right on W. Lilac Rd for 1.9 miles. Turn left on Lilac Rd for .8 mile. Turn left on Oshia Ln up hill. Oshia becomes a graded dirt road. Follow to a white fence, turn right and follow the fence to it's end. The house is on the left at a gravel driveway .3 mile from Lilac. Roads are all well signed and easy to find. Thomas Brothers page 1069. We have a new officer: Lesley Collins has been appointed to chair the Nominating Committee.
We are always looking for new people to help run the club. Lesley's appointment institutionalizes this process.
The 2007 KCSD Koi show will be February 17 & 18 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The 28th Annual AKCA Seminar will be hosted in San Diego by KCSD, June 25-28, 2009.
The list of officers has been added to the web site, with pictures (for most) and links for communication. The menu of links has been augmented on most pages.

Norm Meck's old pond water chemistry pages have been converted to the new format. When we get updates from Norm, we'll be in good shape here. Now, I think, I can concentrate on adding new content and facilities.
My plan (see May 23 entry) for a graceful transition from the old to the new web site has been torpedoed by a miscreant who repeatedly deleted pages from the old site (and once modified one of the new pages). By the time I found the back door (a password I had neglected to change) it didn't seem worth the bother of restoring the old site.

The Annual KCSD Koi Auction will be held at California Koi Farm, 3360 Gird
Road, Fallbrook July 29. Fish may be entered begining at 8AM, Auction starts
at 10AM. The club gets half of sales under $300 to help pay for the 2007
Annual Show. Any sales over $300 the club gets $150. Lunch will be served.
