KCSD 2009 KOI GROW OUT CONTEST UP-DATE

Well only “5” more months of forced feeding your grow out koi all the expensive koi food (or not) and bring your koi to the October 2010 club meeting to see how your growth results are when compared to the others. At the May meeting of the KCSD steering committee the following cash award plan for a total purse of $300.00 was approved. Note: We paid $10.00 for each koi from Ken at Barstow Koi and sold them for $20.00 – the extra $10.00 for each koi becoming the cash award money and we sold 27 grow out koi and our club added $30.00 to make the cash award total of $300.00.

1st place growth $100.00
2nd place growth $75.00
3rd place growth $50.00
(If two or three koi tie for best growth – we will combine the place award money up to $225.00 and split the total money between two or three or more tied winners)

Smallest growth $25.00
(We really want everyone to bring their grow out koi to the Oct meeting)

Best baby award $30.00
Runner up award $20.00
(Hope to get Galen Hansen to judge the koi for these two awards)

Also at the May steering committee meeting there was an interest expressed to do a second grow out contest as part of the November meeting in 2010 – so we will ask at a club meeting to see if members would like to try this again.
